Acupuncture

Acupuncture is part of an integrated system of primary health care that has an uninterrupted history of development dating back thousands of years in China. Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points along the body's meridians to clear energy blockage and encourage the normal flow of Qi through the individual. The practitioner may also stimulate the acupuncture points using other methods, including moxibustion,cupping,electro-stimulation machine and massage, in order to re-establish the flow of Qi.

Acupressure & Remedial Massage

Acupressure deep tissue and relaxing massage involves the use of finger pressure on specific points along the body. It helps remove energy blockage by diffusing the toxic build up that accumulates in the muscle tissue. Some techniques including kneading, rubbing, percussion and vibration are used. In addition, fingers, hands, elbows, the side of hand, palm are used to apply steady pressure to calm and relax the nerve system, promoting greater healing. Remedial massage therapy provides a healing treatment when muscles become knotted and tense or damaged. It is particular for sports and injuries. It involves several specialize techniques to locate and repair damage to muscles, tendons and joints. This therapy is to support and speed up the body's own repair mechanisms.

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort, a small spongy herb, to facilitate healing. Moxibustion has been used throughout Asia for thousands years, in fact, the actual Chinese character for acupuncture mean " Acupuncture-Moxibustion".

Cupping & Gua Sha

Cupping is a method of applying acupressure by creating a vacuum on the skin. Gua sha is to scrape away disease by allowing the disease to escape as sandy-looking objects through the skin. This therapy is understood to dispel stagnation- stagnant blood lymph- thereby improving circulation. Cupping and Gua Sha can leave temporary(usually lasting 3-7 days) unsightly marks on the skin. The color and pattern of the marks help to distinguish the level of stagnation in the area, and range from a bright red to dark purple. If there is no stagnation present, there will be only a light pink mark, which disappears in a few minutes to a couple of hours.

Reflexology (Foot Massage)

Within the feet there are 86 reflex points which relate to every organs, gland and part of body. By stimulating the reflex areas, it improves nerve and blood supply to help restore the body to its natural state of equilibrium.
